Hello, everyone! I'm overdue for an update on what's happening with Courtness Photography during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Currently I am OPEN FOR BUSINESS! However, there will be the following precautions to lower risk, limit the spread of COVID-19 and keep each other healthy:
1) Outdoor photos ONLY.
2) Confirm location choice is acceptable by local COVID-19 guidelines.
3) Distance of AT LEAST 6 feet between myself and clients
4) I will wear a cloth mask for the entirety of our interaction.
5) If anyone has signs or symptoms of sickness, even just the sniffles, or if you have been exposed to someone with Coronavirus within two weeks before our session, please notify me right away and we will reschedule. I will do the same. I'm not taking any chances with our health!
6) Clients will not be required to wear masks while being photographed during an outdoor, distanced photo session. However, as the phases of reopening advance, if large group gatherings become more common, I will expect large groups at events that I photograph to abide by mask-wearing and social distancing guidelines.
7) For shoots involving more than one "pod" (family or friend group) I'm happy to work with you to coordinate to minimize risk.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, and we can discuss! I miss all of your friendly faces and look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Hello, long-neglected blog! I enjoy blogging and photography, but, apparently, blogging about photography is not for me. I'm still here, very busy taking and editing photos, and working with many wonderful families each year!

Well, as you've probably guessed, I prefer spending my time taking and editing photos rather than updating my poor, neglected blog! Never fear, I am active and here, still taking tons of photos (you can view recent uploaded ones in the kids/families pages, bands pages, engagement pages) and having a great time visiting pretty places and meeting a lot of new people. And, because a post really does need a picture, here's one that I entered in The California Academy of Science's Love Life 2012 photo competition the other day (taken at the Academy's Steinhardt Aquarium):
Oh, look! It's an eel that slightly resembles a potato. Delightful!

Kai and Tyler are a fun-loving and adventurous couple and we had a fabulous time at Baker Beach in San Francisco for their engagement session. They met through a friend, he proposed to her at a beach setting and proposed to her a second time in front of her family in the Philippines. Family and nature are two things that are clearly important to them! They're getting married at a beach next month!
I arrived at the windy, overcast beach a little early and started looking for nice spots for photos. By the time I met up with Tyler and Kai, the sun had come out and the lighting was completely different! Kai and Tyler rocked the incredible scenery with their cuteness, and we got some wonderful photos of them! Kai & Tyler - you're going to be magnificent together on your wedding day, and I look forward to being there to get pictures of it all.

Jessica contacted me about photos to use for a modeling conference that she is attending in June.
She is so sweet, and as you can see, gorgeous. She's got these amazing eyes and flawless skin. Thanks for a great session, Jessica!

I recently had the pleasure of photographing an adorable seven month old baby boy and his mommy and daddy at their home. This little boy was so sweet and content and was pretty much a little angel during our entire photo session.
Just a couple here! More under the Kids & Family section for Baby T!

Well, A lot has happened since my last update. Some wonderful weddings, new engagements. The holidays, the new year! We're a quarter of the way into 2011 already! I got some new equipment and I'm eager to get as much use out of it as possible!
For March & April I am running a pre-Mother's day special on kids photography! $30 for a one to one and a half hour session at the location of your choice!

Hello, long neglected blog! Yesterday Honda and I met Teleatha and Travis for an engagement session at the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park.
In spite of the hoards of people, the Tea Garden was somehow tranquil and, of course, beautiful. Teleatha and Travis could not have been a nicer couple. With her infectious smile and Travis' mischievous streak and totally styling boots, we had so much fun. Here are a "few" photos from our engagement session! Okay, they were so photogenic that I had a hard time picking, so it's more like a lot.
I'm looking forward to Honda's photos (photographybylotus.com) and I can't wait for Teleatha and Travis' wedding next week! For more photos of Teleatha and Travis, you can click on the link on the left side of my website for "Engagement & Couples."

Last Wednesday my beautiful little sister Dora and her boyfriend, Spenser, agreed to take a trip to the city with me and the kiddos to check out the Palace of Fine Arts and take some pictures.
It was a remarkably warm, clear day in San Francisco. For once I was HOT in the city. Speaking of hot, Dora and Spenser are a pretty hot couple, so check out some pictures of them!

June 2010, Stanford Campus/Chapel
A long overdue update on the awesome photo session with my (extremely handsome - is it okay to say that?) cousin, Philip and his gorgeous girlfriend, Sarah.
We decided to meet at the Stanford Campus since they went to school (and met) at Stanford University!
Everything about this session was wonderful. The location, the couple, the weather. Such an adorable, friendly fun-loving couple. They were quite adventurous, and were more than happy to let loose for the photo shoot. In fact, Phil even insisted that I take some shots of him leaping from the steps, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon-style.

My photographer friend and I had the brilliant idea to do a photo shoot using each other as models. Brilliant!
She's super cute
Film certainly has its place, but this is why digital photography is wonderful. You can take as many photos as you need to in order to capture the in-between moments when we let our guard down. And this is why I consider our photo shoot to be a success. Not everyone is going to be an instant ham behind the camera. It's my job not only to capture the moment, but to help make the moment happen in the first place by putting my clients at ease, letting them know how awesome they are and encouraging them to have a little fun!
One more picture for good measure...look at her AMAZING eyes!

I had the pleasure of photographing the cast and crew of the Palo Alto Children's Theater's outreach production of The Emperor's New Clothes at my old elementary school, Palo Verde.
There were about 80 kids in this production, so it was quite an ordeal, and I was impressed at how well behaved all of the kids are. Unfortunately I can't display any photos here, but Children's Theater families can order them through the theater.

Had a great time photographing the cast and crew of the Palo Alto Children's Theater outreach production of Pinocchio. This cast was much smaller than the previous one that I photographed (under 20 kids) so things were a bit less hectic. We got a lot of great photos, but again I unfortunately can't display them here!
